Latest News and UpdatesBall head maintenance tip (May 8, 2012)![]() A ball head on a good tripod is a great supporting tool for the photographer. Very flexible and quick to adjust. The better ones you don't even have to loosen when you want to alter them. This can be a boon to the photographer and certainly adds to the precision and ease of handling. A good ball head is pretty low maintenance; the very tight space between the different moving parts prevent dirt and other stuff to get in. Just wiping the ball head with a clean (lint free) rag after use is enough to keep it going and operating smoothly for ages. Even when you've used it in adverse weather. Sometimes, however, you'll notice your ball head isn't operating as smoothly as it should. To automatically receive the latest news, subscribe to our NAE newsletters (choose the relevant region) Nikonians Academy Europe BenefitsHayo Baan, Head Instructor of Nikonians Academy Europe says: We strongly believe in giving you value for money. For starters, unlike many of our competitors, our workshops are full day experiences – sometimes even going through into the evening, especially for the multi-day workshops, tours, and safaris. To further your learning experience we also limit the group size; never more than 15 people, and often less – depending upon the subject. This is to give you plenty of scope to interact with your instructor and fellow Nikonians. Our instructors are all professional photographers themselves: from them you learn what works in practice, and why. You hear it the way it is, no sweet-talking about every and all features. Instead we go in-depth, hard-core, and beyond the surface of things, and we love questions! Unlike other workshops, the learning process does not end when you finish the day. You are most welcome to follow-up the training by asking questions either directly to your tutor or via one of the Nikonians Forums on-line. There you will find a wealth of knowledge and diverse opinion on-hand, 24/7, to help you and other members get the most from your investment. On top of every thing else, we offer camaraderie. You may meet your on-line buddies and make new, off-line friends! Nikonians are a friendly bunch and as the classroom is never crowded, everyone has the chance to discuss and to raise questions and learn, learn, and learn! Special Discount: As a Nikonians member you can already make use of many discounts (see our rewards page for a full list). On top of this, we offer our workshop participants special discount of 5% on purchases from the Photo Pro Shop Europe! London Street Photography Experience (Weekend)
A whirlwind of practical “In-public” photography, exploring the visual delights of the capital and the wide range of people who populate the city on a typical summer weekend.
Some of Photography’s most famous protagonists are inextricably linked with the practice of capturing candid moments, fleeting gestures, bizarre coincidences and visual obscurities found out there on the streets, avenues and byways of our towns and cities. Many of photography’s most iconic images depict “decisive moments” where the power of the stills’ camera to freeze a unique slice of time is portrayed to magnificent effect . These pictures delight and enthral us on many levels; they speak to us of the human condition, the society we live in and the transient nature of life itself. But almost above all else they allow us to be there - to participate - to be a witness to the fact that it did, for that split second at least, exist....
