Outdoor and Studio Glamour Photography with models (Weekend)

Shoot for a whole weekend with Giuseppe Circhetta and his team and learn how to approach to glamour & editorial shootings (production & post-production)

Shooting outside is such a great experience for both the models and the photographer. Learn how to modify available light in order to get the best out of your shots with flash and light modifiers (both outside and in the studio). Because if you know technique, you focus on the model and you don’t waste precious frames setting up your camera. Understand the mood you’re shooting, use the light as the creative means to express your idea, talk to model and let her know what you need, stir her up with your effective communication and then shoot, shoot, shoot! And after that, perfect your shots through a realistic and precise photo retouch. All of this right in the city centre of Milan.

Schedule

Day 1
10.00-10.30: Welcome coffee
10.30-12.30: Theory of flash photography with practical exercises for participants
12.30-14.00: Lunch break
14.00-14.30: Learn the approach to managing a glamour shooting and dealing with a model
14.30-15.00: Look at your teacher shooting and learn about “soft skills”
15.00-19.00: One-to-one shooting with models (each photographer will be in front of the model alone) within three different sets (available light, studio light, mixed light).
19.00-19.30: Debriefing
OPTIONAL: portfolio review in the evening, after dinner

Day 2:
10.00-10.30: Welcome coffee
10.30-12.30: discussion and selection of participants’ shots
12.30-14.00: Lunch break
14.00-17.30: Post-production on participants’ shots. Meet Adobe Camera RAW and develop your images according to your creative vision. Retouching in Photoshop with focus on skin correction. Sharpening your images. Converting in Black and White: an introduction

Day 3 (optional):
For a selected group of photographers, we’ll do a shooting trying to communicate a concept we plan together.
10-12: Definition of the concept
12-13: Set up of lights and choice of location
13-14: Lunch break
14-17: Shooting on two different sets

You will learn

- Planning a shooting
- Communicating your idea to the model
- Working as a team
- Creating the right light for the right mood
- Using the flash and light modifiers to control
  available light
- Using a light meter
- Developing your photo to get the right base
  to start photo retouch
- Retouching an image in a natural and
  realistic way
